Bentley iTwin Capture Modeler is reality-modeling software whose free Flex desktop prepares photos, video, and lidar, while a paid engine or cloud service turns that data into meshes, orthophotos, and splats.
A drone flight or a scanner run is not a model until someone aligns it and checks the control. iTwin Capture Modeler Flex is the free Windows app for that setup: import photos, video, and point clouds, run the project checks, and retouch before you pay for processing. Final meshes are a later, paid step.
The paid step is separate. iTwin Capture Engine, on your own machines, runs aerotriangulation and writes Gaussian splats, reality meshes, true orthophotos, and a digital elevation model. It can stay offline. Cloud Services takes the same prepared project when the set is too large for the office PCs, or when a remote team needs a browser view, and Bentley does not print a cloud price.
Inputs named on the engine page include RGB and thermal images, video, and lidar in LAS, LAZ, OPC, or POD. Flex can measure coordinates, distance, volume, and area, and it can touch up a mesh or an orthophoto without an engine license. Ground control points are how the modeler page says you hold survey accuracy.
The desktop and the engine ask for Windows 11 or Windows Server 2022, 64-bit. The minimum PC is 16 GB of RAM, an 8-core Intel Core i7 or equivalent, and an NVIDIA RTX 3070. Bentley recommends 64 GB, a Core i9, and an RTX 4080 or higher. Mac and Linux are not on that list.

Bentley aims it at infrastructure teams who need a reality mesh for design, construction, and operations, not only a pretty model. Survey control, retouching, and quality checks are part of the desktop.
