HVAKR is a browser-based HVAC design platform for mechanical engineers that turns uploaded floor plans into spaces, ASHRAE and ACCA load calculations, airflow, and client reports, with gbXML export on team plans.
Load calculations still stall when the floor plan changes and the spreadsheet does not. HVAKR is a cloud HVAC design tool for mechanical teams: you upload the plans, it scans spaces, picks a weather station from the project address, and builds a basis of design you can edit.
Space defaults come from ASHRAE 62.1, and assemblies can start from ASHRAE 90.1 and 62.1 tables or a saved firm template, filtered by climate zone and standard year. The public API describes load calculations with the ASHRAE radiant time series method. Change a design temperature, a wall, or a ventilation rate and the loads recalculate. HVAKR says that update shows up in about 100 milliseconds.
Reports include load summaries, a basis of design, a residential HVAKR J report, ASHRAE 62.1 ventilation documents, a canvas drawing, and a mechanical specification as a Word file. Team and Enterprise can also export gbXML and raw JSON. The API can create and update a project from Revit. The product pages do not list an IFC export.
Nothing is installed for the web app, and Solo is a single named login. Team seats float and can be reassigned, from 3 up to 20, and at 20 or more HVAKR points you to Enterprise. Support is described as mechanical engineers in project chat, email, or a video call, with an average response they put at about 37 minutes.

Key features
Floor-plan takeoff: Upload plans. HVAKR scans spaces with OCR and AI, selects a weather station, and drafts the basis of design.
Standards libraries: ASHRAE 62.1 space types, plus ASHRAE 90.1 and 62.1 tables or your own wall, space, and schedule templates.
Live loads: Heating and cooling loads and airflow update when inputs change. The API documents the ASHRAE radiant time series method.
Reports: PDF loads report, basis of design, residential HVAKR J, canvas drawing, and ASHRAE 62.1 IAQP ventilation. Mechanical specification exports as DOCX. Several tables also export as CSV.
gbXML: Team and Enterprise can export building geometry and constructions as gbXML for energy-modeling tools. Raw JSON is on the same plans.
Revit API: Public API endpoints create a project from Revit and update a project from Revit. No IFC export is listed in the report docs.
AI credits: Solo 1,500 per month, Team 10,000 plus 1,000 per extra seat, Enterprise 100,000 plus 2,000 per extra seat. Extra credits are $10 per 1,000.
Team admin: Floating seats, shared libraries, project history, invoice payment, and required MFA. Enterprise adds SSO, SCIM, audit log, and a 24-hour support SLA.

Frequently asked questions
How much does HVAKR cost?
On hvakr.com/pricing as of 30 Sep 2026, Solo is $240 per month for one seat, or $200 per month when billed yearly. Team starts at 3 seats for $960 per month, or $800 per month on the yearly toggle, and extra seats are $80 per month or $67 per month on yearly billing, up to 20 seats. Enterprise is custom and is the plan HVAKR points to at 20 seats or more. Yearly billing is described as 2 months free. Prices are US dollars.
Does HVAKR have a free trial?
Yes. Solo includes a 14-day free trial and Team includes a 30-day free trial. There is no ongoing free plan. The terms of service also say refunds are available within 7 days of purchase, via support@hvakr.com. Subscriptions renew unless cancelled, and billing is managed at app.hvakr.com.
Does HVAKR work on Mac or only in the browser?
The pricing FAQ says HVAKR is fully cloud-based and there is nothing to install, sync, or maintain. That covers a desktop browser on Mac or Windows. A separate Windows or Mac application is not listed. The public API does include endpoints to create and update a project from Revit, so a Revit user on Windows can connect, but the design workspace itself is the website.
Does HVAKR export IFC, gbXML, or Revit files?
gbXML export of geometry and constructions is documented for Team and Enterprise, aimed at energy-modeling tools. Reports also download as PDF, CSV, DOCX for the mechanical specification, and raw JSON on Team and Enterprise. The report docs do not list IFC. The API can create a project from Revit and update a project from Revit, which is a sync path rather than an IFC handoff.
What is the difference between HVAKR Solo and HVAKR Team?
Solo is one seat at $240 a month, with personal templates, loads, PDF and CSV reports, and 1,500 AI credits. It cannot add a second login. Team starts at three seats and $960 a month and adds shared libraries, floating seats, organization-wide sharing, project history, MFA, invoice payment, and gbXML. Enterprise, from 20 seats, adds SSO, SCIM, an audit log, and 100,000 AI credits a month, at a quoted price.
Who is HVAKR for, and which standards does it use?
HVAKR is aimed at mechanical design teams doing commercial and residential HVAC. The homepage pulls space types from ASHRAE 62.1 and lets you start from ASHRAE 90.1 and 62.1 tables. The API describes loads with the ASHRAE radiant time series method, and plan names say ASHRAE/ACCA load calculations. A residential project can produce the HVAKR J report. Commercial projects can produce an ASHRAE 62.1 IAQP ventilation report.
